Religious Affairs

The historical roots of the NAACP and churches have been entwined and grown together for the spiritual, social, and educational progress of African-Americans. We wish to carry on this bond by continuing to engage churches in Aurora and surrounding areas to engage with the Aurora Branch to advocate and address the issues of social justice, family empowerment, and the injustice that concerns us all.

The Religious Affairs Committee is made up of ministerial and lay religious leaders who are members of the Aurora, Colorado Branch. It is the duty of this committee to:

* Promote an educational program designed to give moral and ethical interpretation to the civil rights struggle.

* Interpret the work of the Association to organized religious groups of all faiths.

* Enlist the support of such organized religious groups for membership, fund raising, and the struggle for equality and full civil rights.

* Provide resource assistance for religious education and social action activities, associated with the improvement of race relations.

It is with humbleness we extend our hands churches to strengthen our bond and remain organizations that stand on our ROCK in Aurora, Colorado!
