Supreme Court Will Hear Challenge to Health Law

At 10 a.m. today, the Supreme Court issued its orders for the upcoming 2012 term, which includes the details of how the oral arguments related to the health law will shape up.

Colorado Attorney General John Suthers Sued Over HCA/HealthOne Hospital Deal

Opponents of the $1.45 billion hospital deal between HCA/ Health One and the Colorado Health Foundation are suing state Attorney General John Suthers for approving the deal, and asking Denver District Court to throw out the already-completed pact.

A group of former board members with the joint venture that used to operate metro Denver's largest hospital group say Suthers should have ruled that the deal violated a hospital-transfer law and either altered it radically or thrown out the sale.

Suthers Anxious for High Court Hearing

DENVER — Colorado Attorney General John Suthers and the White House — at loggerheads over the impending federal health care overhaul — both delighted in news Monday that the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments from litigants challenging portions of the law adopted last year. “The Obama Administration asked the Supreme Court to consider legal challenges to the health reform law and we are pleased the court has agreed to hear this case,” White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said in a written statement.

U.S Supreme Court to Hear Health-Care Reform Case

In a long-awaited announcement, the U.S. Supreme Court said Monday it will take up a challenge to the federal health care reform law.
